AB InBev
GRUPO MODELO MEXICO
English | Español
We’re excited that Anheuser-Busch InBev, maker of Budweiser, and Grupo Modelo, maker of Corona, have reached an agreement to join our historic and world-class breweries.

Both AB InBev and Grupo Modelo are companies with rich histories. AB InBev’s heritage dates back to 1366 with the Den Hoorn brewery in Leuven, Belgium, as well as the Anheuser & Co brewery established in St. Louis, Missouri, USA in 1852. Grupo Modelo is the leading brewer in Mexico, tracing its roots back to 1925.

We share a number of very important values. Both AB InBev and Grupo Modelo are dedicated to the quality of our beers; we have proud historic identities; we focus on long-term success; and we care deeply about our employees, the communities where we operate and the environment.

We are extremely proud of our brands and the stellar beers that we produce. Following this transaction, Corona would join Budweiser as a global flagship brand, alongside global brands Stella Artois and Beck’s, allowing us to build on Corona’s impressive record as the leading import beer in 38 countries.

Most importantly, it’s an exciting transaction for consumers. The great Mexican beers that consumers around the world enjoy and appreciate would have an increased global presence, and consumers in Mexico would have a greater choice of beers from AB InBev’s leading brand portfolio. We look forward to continuing to build on our brands’ rich heritages and sharing our ideas on innovations so that we can bring more products to market for consumers to enjoy.

We share a commitment to sustainability and our communities, and we look forward to combining our efforts in areas such as reducing water usage at our breweries and promoting responsible drinking.

We thank you for your interest in AB InBev and Group Modelo. We look forward to continuing to brew the finest beers in the world. Cheers.
